Prosthetic Eyes for VeteransVeterans Day is a national holiday to pay tribute to all American military.  To honor the men and women who have dedicated their lives to the service of our country.  We deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made, and continue to make, to keep our county free.  From the entire team at Ocular Prosthetics, Inc., we thank you for your service.

The sacrifice that members of the United States Armed Forces make for our country can sometimes include an injury that requires a custom ocular or facial prosthesis.  At Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. our team of board certified ocularists and board certified anaplastologist are contracted service providers for The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  As your greater Los Angeles prosthetic eye provider, we work directly with the VA to determine your eligibility for VA medical care.  Once we receive a purchase order for our services from a qualifying VA physician, we can begin the process of restoring your image and your life.

As recommended by the VA, the lifespan of a custom fabricated facial prosthesis is 1 to 2 years; the lifespan of a custom fabricated ocular prosthesis is 2 to 5 years.  As a general rule, patients under VA coverage need to have their prosthetic eye replaced at least every 5 years.  Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. also recommends that the prosthetic eye be professionally polished by a board certified ocularist at least once a year.

For more information on services for veterans at Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. please contact us at any of our five greater Los Angeles office locations:  Los Angeles, Orange, Encino, Torrance and Santa Barbara.  Special arrangements can be made to accommodate veterans traveling from long distances to complete the prosthesis in one day.  We are forever grateful for veteran’s service to our country.   It is our privilege to provide prosthetic eye services for veterans.
